First Months Home

I have now been home for almost three months. Hard to believe that I've been home for the amount of time that I was in Costa Rica. Where does the time go?

It seems like two weeks ago that I said goodbye to my life in Costa Rica, 4 months of spanish and tropical bliss, and people that I have grown to love and cherish. I miss the warm weather and the constant sunshine. I miss the simplicity of life... living with a family and experiencing such unique community.

I remember the first week I was home, after 8 months of straight summer, we got almost a foot of snow. It was like culture shock, with the weather. But those first days at home were nothing short of a shock. Adjusting back to regular life here was difficult, and made me sick to my stomach. Instantly I had access to my car again, and was plunged into the fast-pace American life that I had almost forgotten about. Costa Rica is slow, and relaxed. You get there, when you get there. I enjoyed not having to drive my own car everyday and washing dishes after dinner with Rebecca, my American friend. I miss staying up late with her, laughing and talking. She is a wonderful friend. I miss speaking spanish every day.

Wish I had time to go back for Spring Break... oh well. Costa Rica, I'll be back soon!

Bendiciones,
lucita
